Oak Hill Bible Church Ministries

It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-13

Men's Ministries

Men's Discipleship

Men interested in Bible study and fellowship on an informal basis are invited to join together every Saturday morning from 7:30-8:30am in the Pastor's study. There are usually between 12-15 men who meet regularly. Coffee is always provided.

Men's Breakfast

A men's breakfast is held the first Saturday of every month.

Women's Ministries

The Woman's Home and Foreign Mission Society

The Women's Home and Foreign Mission Society (WHFMS) is an organization of the Advent Christian Denomination. The WHFMS was begun back in the 1890's by a small group of ladies from the Friendship, Maine Advent Christian Church and has grown into a major influence in the field of missions. Our local is made up of women who have a keen interest in missions both at home and abroad.

We meet once a month, on the third Tuesday of each month, at 7:00 pm, usually in the church facility. At our meetings we conduct the business necessary to keep the society going, including how to distribute the funds, which we raise by various means, for missions. We have a program which gives us insight or information concerning our Christian growth or of our missionaries.

During the months of February/March we have a project in which we search Scripture for the numerical answer to clues. The numbers are translated into money, which is contributed for mission work. For the months of June through September we have a summer project in which we have a kind of scavenger hunt where we look for and record things that we have seen, smelled, heard, or done. These too are translated into money to be given for missions.

We sponsor the church-wide "Christmas in October" which provides Christmas checks for our missionaries to use as they see fit. Each year for Christmas we make favors for the Vernon Hall residents at Vernon, Vermont and send calendars to church shut-ins. We hold the Christmas post office where our church family may bring in cards to be sorted and given out to other church families during two weeks each December for the donation of 11 cents per card.

For our enjoyment we have a June potluck picnic and a Christmas party in a member's home each year, and mid-summer we go to a restaurant for a time of food and fellowship. We have also held a ladies' breakfast with guest speaker to which all women are specifically invited.

Regionally the WHFMS sponsors a June Convention and a September Ladies' Retreat at Alton Bay. All ladies are invited to these function, as well as sincerely welcome at any of our meetings. We are always looking for new members.
